3750 PoE issues when stack and RPS used

Hi guys!

I had an issue with a couple of 3750 switches connected in stackwise mode. They were providing PoE to many IP phones and Access Points. Also, they were connected to the same RPS.

I had to reboot both switches and after that the PoE of one of the switches stayed in OFF mode. I rebooted both switches one more time but PoE was still unavailable. The "show power inline" command showed status OFF for one switch (the slave). I replaced the slave switch and the issue continued. I connected the switches to a different port in the RPS and that didn't change things.

I had to disconnect the stack cable and created a trunk between both switches in order to make the PoE working again on both switches.

What could be the cause of this? The RPS? Or is there a bug maybe?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Juan

Hi,

I have exactly same model switches running without any problem with IPBase.

I have version 12.2(25)SEE2 on one stack

I also have another stack running version 12.2(35)SE5.

Try upgrading and see if it helps

Hope This Helps.....

Shaheen

I'll try to upgrade the IOS but I think first I'll try a different RPS. I'll let you know. Thanks a lot!
