3750 stacking compatibility

I have a stack of 3750s:

Master is 3750E-48TD-E --> c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

Members are 3750G-12S-E --> c3750-advipservicesk9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

I've made the 3750E the master with "switch 1 priority 6" & the 3750G's members with "switch 2 priority 1".

I can't find the exact same IOS for both switch models, The E model only has the "universal" feature set and the G model has base and ipservices. I want the members to be able to route if the Master goes offline.

Any ideas if my configuration will work properly considering my IOS and switch models ?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi - i have stacked 3750E's on all my floors.

From memory the priority need to be between 1-15, where 15 is the highest. Seems you have your primary & secondary the wrong way around.

Traffic will still route if you set up a secondary 'link' from the secondary switch. Either Ether-Channel, Spanning-tree blocked, or L3 routing like EIGRP.

- James.
