Hello All,

I am new to networking and I am learning switch stacking configuration.I am having following having issues.

(Both switches are compatible to each other)

  • show switch stack-ports summary" command showed the port status as "absent" (indicating no cable detected on stack port even though Cable screws are tightened properly)

Switch-2A# show switch stack-ports summary

Switch#/ Stack Neighbor Cable Link Link Sync # In
Port# Port Length OK Active OK Changes Loopback
Status To LinkOK
-------- ------ -------- -------- ---- ------ ---- --------- --------
1/1 Absent None No cable No No No 0 Yes

  • "show switch" command only detects "master", not the slave or the member

Switch-2A#en show switch
Switch/Stack Mac Address : e8b7.4843.1f00
H/W Current
Switch# Role Mac Address Priority Version State
----------------------------------------------------------
*1 Master e8b7.4843.1f00 1 1 Ready

Help me figuring out what is going wrong int the configuration.

Thank You,

Archana

Hi,

Can you try using a different stacking cable and test again?

Thanks for your response.

It worked after changing the cable.

Can you rate and mark the post as answered, so others can benefit from it?

Thanks
