3750X-24 + C3KX-NM-10G

We have bought four Cisco 3750X-24 Switches with IP Base license for 2 offices (2 switches at each office).

The offices are connected with 1 fiber pair and 2 CWDM units. We have 6 CWDM SFP (2x 1470nm, 2x 1490nm and 2x 1510nm).

All the switches are up and runnig with 1 problem: the SFP's in the SFP+ position didn't work.

Only the gigabit port 1/1/1 and 1/1/3 are connected. Gigabit 1/1/2 stay disconnected.

I already did some test with other SFP's and kabels.

Do I need to disable the tengig ports in the configuration?

Thanks!

Use below command and find the results for any Fiber cable related errors.

Switch # test cable-diagnostics tdr interface

Switch# show cable-diagnostics tdr interface

TDR test is nog supported:

Switch#test cable-diagnostics tdr interface gig 1/1/2

% TDR test is not supported on interface Gi1/1/2

The fiber cable connected to this sfp works fine. The sfp's with this cable work ok in port 1/1/1 but not in port 1/1/2.

hi Joeri-Bos ,

you can't use SFP modules in SFP+ Port containers, just because of this SFP modules didn't work on Gi1/1/2.

Try SFP+ transivers to get these ports working.

regards.

Could you post the SFP part numbers you are trying to troubleshoot. There are some limitations on what SFP's you can use in 10 Gig NM.

Wait a second.  This issue has got NOTHING to do with TDR.

SFP+????  In a C3KS-NM-10G module, you can only have a maximum of TWO (2) SFP+.  If you want to mix SFP and SFP+ in a module it's two SFP and one SFP+.

You can never use more than three or more SFP+ in a module.  This information is printed in front of the module itself.

Another thing:  Look at your interface.  It says "Gigabit" so it means it's SFP only and NOT SFP+.  If your interface says "Ten" then it means your fibre optic module is SFP+.
