I'm attempting to setup VSS pair on 4500x. 1 of the 2 switches appear to missing some commands:

On my Switch 1 this is the code:

Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e-UNIVERSAL-M), Version 03.03.02.SG RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Directory of bootflash:/

On Switch 2 that appears to be running fine is running:

Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e-UNIVERSAL-M), Version 03.04.02.SG RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

On Switch 1 when i attemp to create VSS, I get the following:sw

Switch(config)#switch ?
% Unrecognized command
Switch(config)#switch

is this switch set in a particular mode that's preventing or do i have a bad code loading.. ? please advise..

Thanks

After taking a look at the current IOS on the switch I do not see VSS mentioned in the release notes. You may need to move up to a newer IOS version to solve this issue. The very next IOS 3.4.4SG seems to support VSS.
