i have a Cisco 4507 switch with 48 ports RJ-45 non PoE. How do I convert these ports to PoE on this chassis. Does the 4507 have a integrated power source that can power non PoE ports?

do i have to buy a module that has PoE?

You will need to buy a module that supports PoE or as an altenative you may check the equipment in the link below. PowerDsine is selling cisco-supported equipment that allows you to add PoE to an existing network without changing the switchblades.

If you do not want to replace the blade then you could go for any midspan switch as suggested by Leo.

This sometimes is beneficial particularly if your users move around. Its always easier to remove the midspan switch and connect it to any portion on the network.

If you intend to upgrade to a POE module, make sure you have sufficient power supply, which may also require an upgrade

HTH, rate if it does
