4507 Sup Question

My office has a SupIII (WS-X4014) that we're trying to install in a 4507R. However, we are finding conflitcting info from Cisco about their compatibility.

The 4500 Data Sheet doesn't list the SupIII as a compatible Sup Engine : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps4324/products_data_sheet0900aecd801792b1.html

But the Installation Guide for the 4500 says that it does (page 1-19 and 1-12): http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/hardware/installation/guide/78-14409-08/4500inst.html

Any help or clarification is appreciated!

The second link mentions that it does because the 4503 and 4506, but it won't work on the 4507R as the first link states.

Please see another link :)

Hi Christopher

I think it's a typo in the second document. I agree with Edison and would add a further link to back it up.
