From what I have found the VPN (WS-IPSEC-3) port adapter (on a WS-SSC-600) is not supported if you decide to turn the 6509-E into a VSS system. Is this correct? Thanks!

It is not supported as of now. You might want to contact your Cisco sales team about future roadmap.

Hello,
Need the same information for a VSS design (for IPSEC-2G card), but still could not find information about whether it is/will be supported or not. Could you get any information from Cisco sales team about the roadmap?

Here is what we have recently been able to achieve:
We have two sets of VSS 6509s with WAN interconnectivity between them over a microwave radio.
We have one SSC-600 and one IPSEC-3 module in each of the four (4) chassis.
We are encrypting all traffic that traverses the WAN connection.
Our problem: We can only specify the use of one IPSEC module or the other in each of the VSSs. If the chassis that has the in-use IPSEC module goes down, we will lose all connectivity.
Does anyone know the path I should take to enable the redundancy of the IPSEC modules?
Thanks!
Cliff
