6500 VSS dual Sup

Hi All,

I am just looking for some clarification regarding VSS...

I have read that with the latest code for 6500 VSS, I can use Dual SUP in each chassis. Can I use a 10gb port on each Sup for VSL? Is that supported? Or Do i need to use a port on a 10g card? Thanks.

Hi,

You can use the 2 10Gig ports that comes with Sup-720-VS or a combination of one from the Sup and one from a line card.

Just to note that VSL is not supported on the 6704-10GE.  I'm discouraging anyone to stay away from the 6708-10GE too because this blade won't be supported on the soon-to-be-released VS-Sup2T.
