6500 VSS expansion - reconfigure VSS needed?

Curently, we are running VSS between a 6509 (switch 1) and a 6504 (switch 2) with SUP2T-10G.

Because of capacity issues, we want to remove the 6504, and replace it with a 6509. My concern is this may completely break VSS as the SUP 2Ts in the 6509 are now in a different slot.

However, since we have port channels configured as the VSL, one Po member is on one line card, and one Po member is on the SUP, If we keep the line card Po members the same (meaning we keep the line cards in the same numbered slot when we move the lines cards over to the new 6509) will the VSS stay in tact?

Comments, thoughts, confirmation would be appreciated.

Joe

Just want to follow-up for anyone who might encounter the same situation.

Keeping the VSL link intact did allow us to maintain the VSS configuration on the new chassis, although to synch the 2 chassis, following the installation of the new chassis, BOTH chassis had to reboot, which was not entriely unexpected give the nature of VSS and how the chassis must synch.
