Dear Frnds,
Got an issue in our 6506 switch as running with single power supply, PS2 went faulty WS-CAC-3000W. We don't have alternte part for this . . . ! ! !
Though we do have WS-CAC-2500W, and noticed in datasheet as this would be compatible for C6506.
Here concern is about whether the switch could run with PS1 as 3000W and PS2 as 2500W ??
Help me regarding this, would be thankful to a great extent and our network run without any crisis as this switch plays vital role . . .
Regards,
Kapil

Check the 6500 IOS configuration guide:
Option 1
Configuration:
System is booted with power supplies of equal or different wattage installed and redundancy disabled.
Effect:
The system powers up as many modules as the combined capacity allows.
Option 2
Configuration:
System is booted with power supplies of different wattage installed and redundancy enabled
Effect:
The system does not allow you to have power supplies of different wattage installed
in a redundant configuration. The lower wattage supply shuts down.
