6509-e vs 6509-v-e

Hi experts!

I'm trying to see if there's a performance difference between 6509-E and 6509-V-E.

I know the 6509-V-E is a vertical chassis, but other than that, is there a performance difference? The datasheet says 80gbps per slot, but I thought 6509-E was 40gbps per slot. I tried doing a chat with Cisco via their website this morning and he wasn't able to get me an answer to this.

Would the 6509-V-E support all the same modules as the 6509-E?

Modules I'd be looking at: 6748 (gig copper), WISM, 16-port 10g ports, Sup720-10g-3c

The 6509-V-E chassis is ready for the new supervisor the sup2T which supports up to 80gb per slot.  The 6509-E will only support 40gb per slot, but will support all of the line cards you have listed, as will the 6509-V-E chassis as well.

That's not correct.  The Sup2T  (read starting from page 18) will support all "E"-series chassis.   In regards to 10Gb line cards, Sup2T will not be able to support 6708-10GE because the DFC3 card is built-in.  6704-10GE and 6716-10GE will be supported upon upgrade to the new DFC4.
