How can I find out what the maximum amount of 6509 frame buffering memory has been utilized by a particular 6509 Gigabit Ethernet port? I am taking a realtime Multicast stream via the port and want to find out how much buffer space the switch is having to supply when the server cannot keep up with sudden increases (flow control is enabled) in order to not lose any data.

My understanding is that as long as you aren't oversubscribing the exit port, then the packet just gets tagged for delivery via the normal crossbar dma to the SPAN port along with all other appropriate ports. Total usage is about or more than 60Mbps.

Actually, I was looking for somthing that would describe the following:
Port 4/1 (for instance), at maximum, needed up to 45Mbytes of output buffer space to hold the frames it asked the switch to not send (via flow control messages to the switch) when it was too busy.
Does anyone know if these statistics are available from the CLI, etc.?
