For 2 days, i've been encountering memory issues on my core router (6509). Here are the most usefull commands, can i tune something or must i upgrade the memory ?

Re: 6509 memory issues

Whats the memory error your seeing?

Re: 6509 memory issues

No error, just an alarm because i'm using 82% of the total memory...

Re: 6509 memory issues

ok, looking at the output you posted, it seems SNMP is your culprit. Do you have some monitoring software heavily polling this device?

Re: 6509 memory issues

Yes sure a few ones, should i need to just lower the snmp queries ?

Re: 6509 memory issues

It depends on the frequency and what exactly is being polled. Its hard to determine, but if you want to ensure only authorized snmp traffic you can setup an ACL.
