6509 Rommon state

I' ve a 6509 with a SUP1A-2GE.

I see these messages after I power cycle the switch and I know that the Catalyst 6500 is

in the SP ROMmon:

System Bootstrap, Version 5.3(1)

c6k_sup1 processor with 65536 Kbytes of main memory.

Ther is no Catos image under bootflash.

I Try to download a Cisco Catos image with xmodem -s 38400 command and th Download complete it. The problem is when start the "Self decompressing the image":##########.It doesn't complete this procedure and, after some seconds, the switch goes in rommon state with a PC forced crash.

What ca I do ?

You might want to verify the image you have loaded is correct . Make sure its a Sup 1 image and not a sup2 . Where is loaded if there is no image under bootflash? Is this catos ?

the image is correct.

The catalyst is a Catos converted to Ios and It has a PFC and an MSFC2 on board.

Ios is c6sup12-psv-mz.121-27b.E1.bin and is loaded into slot0:.

This is the messagge:

System Bootstrap, Version 5.3(1)

c6k_sup1 processor with 65536 Kbytes of main memory

Autoboot executing command: "boot bootflash:"

loadprog: bad file magic number: 0x0

boot: cannot load "bootflash:"

Exit at the end of BOOT string

It seems you missed some steps on the Software conversion.

You need to clear the BOOT statement in rommon and once booted into IOS, you need to change your bootvar to slot0:
