Hi Swamy,

I belive you do not have boot image on your msfc bootflash.

If you don't, you need to have boot loader file at least in the MSFC bootflash to boot up. If this is the case, please xmodem the proper boot loader for MSFC first.

Once you have bootloader file either in bootflash or via xmodem, you should be able to boot up usingPCMCIA card.

Please beware that if you did xmodem, this doesn't actually copy to MSFC bootflash so

you would need to copy it later.

Ankur,

Please tell me If after the xmodem copy, where the file will be? How can I copy it to the bootflash?

I confused about the xmodem destination location for the bootldr image.

Please help me

swamy

Hi Swamy,

After xmodem the image will be in DRAM of RP and it will just boot the RP and once it boots then you can tftp the boot loader image into bootflash of RP.

Ankur,

Bit confuse. If the bootldr in the RP DRAM then how can I tftp to the RP bootflash:

For Tftp to work the image should be in the local drive of the PC.

Please explain me.

I will rate soon.

swamy

Ankur,

In my pc card slot0: i have both IOS image and the bootldr image. I need to copy this bootldr to the RP bootflash:.

Please confirm me is it possible or as you said xmodem is the only solution. If xmodem only then please answer my reply to ur anohter message.

thanks

swamy

Hi Swamy,

You can first try copy from sup-slot0: and if that does not work then try xmodem.

Also you have 2 image so you only need to copy the bootloader image to the bootflash of RP.

Ankur

Dear,

I tried the sup-slot0 command with no auccess.so only left is xmodem

swamy

Hi Swamy,

From where do you tried or issued this command? You should be in RP rommon before issuing this command.

dir sup-slot0: will not work but copy command should work.

If you have already done this and still you cannot copy then xmodem the boo tloader when you are in RP rommon and once xmodem is complted it will copy the image into RP DRAM and RP DRAM will bot and once you see the RP boot prompt you can tftp the bot image into RP bootflash.

I hope I am bale to explain.

Ankur

Dear ankur,

Let me downlaod the image.

Thanks

Ankur,

Please correct me if i am wrong.

BOOTLDR=bootflash:c6msfc-boot-mz.121-26.E3.bin

Should the .bin be there or not.

Thanks

swamy

Hi Swamy,

No worry. So now your bootloader is into bootflash? Were you able to xmodem successfully or copy commadn worked?

Regards,

Ankur
