Hello all,
I have been stuck for the past couple days with sup2's that will not boot, xmodem transfers fail every time, and from what i can gather my supervisor is stuck in a constant state of sp rommon mode. I have been wading through the hundreds of topics with no resolution that works. here is a sample of what i am seeing:
System Bootstrap, Version 6.1(3)
Copyright (c) 1994-2000 by cisco Systems, Inc.
c6k_sup2 processor with 131072 Kbytes of main memory
Autoboot executing command: "boot "
boot: cannot determine first file name on device "bootflash:"

Any help would be awesome!
Thanks,

Please reboot the Sup card and post the entire bootup process so we can determine WHERE exactly is the issue.

Have the same problem.
Problem begin after a month's inactivity of catalyst 6509. I was not be able to boot cisco with previous configuration. It was loaded only with old image that was on bootflash:. So I deleted it and now have same trouble as topicstarter.
rommon 1 > dir bootflash:

How can I undelete last file? I think this will solve the problem
Here is a full log of boot:

And one more thing. Maybe it would be usefull:
rommon 2 > dir slot0:
device does not contain a valid magic number
dir: cannot open device "slot0:"
Don't know if it is ok. I had trying to boot from pcmcia card:
rommon 3 > dev
Devices in device table:
id name
bootflash: boot flash
slot0: PCMCIA slot 0
eprom: eprom
rommon 4 > boot slot0:
device does not contain a valid magic number
boot: cannot open "slot0:"
boot: cannot determine first file name on device "slot0:"

Trying to follow this instructions
I don't understand where from images appear in bootflash: in step 5.

In my first message I wrote log of boot. But it wasn't first boot. Here is first boot. Has some differences:

Maybe this is the problem? What to do?

I think you need to contact Cisco TAC. You need to RMA the supervisor card.
