Re: 6509E Model

Re: 6509E Model

system Led

Re: 6509E Model

sounds like your card is not loading up properly. to troubleshoot, connect a console cable to the console port to see why the card is not booting.

Re: 6509E Model

also to have your sup 720 engines in active/standby, you need to have the same ios codes on the sup 720 cards.

Re: 6509E Model

The orange system LED means that the module is powering up or a minor hardware fault has occurred. I would recommend looking at your logs, and and run some diagnostics on the supervisor. Please paste the output of the "show

module" command.

Re: 6509E Model

both cards looks fine to me.

you have two sup 720 engines, one is slot 5 as the active and the other in slot 6 as standby. onw which one is the led amber?

New Member

Re: 6509E Model

on both system led's are Amber

Re: 6509E Model

Do you by chance have both power supplies on and plugged in? The light will turn amber if there is only one active power supply.

Re: 6509E Model

Thanks I did check the power supply connection to the Ups and one Had come Loose

after reseting the connector Led turned to Green.

Thank you for the support

Re: 6509E Model

Yes everything looks OK thus far. Try the "show diagnostic content module 5" command. This will show the advanced diagnostics on the line card, and show any failed tests.

Cisco Employee

"show module" output shows that both the supervisors are up and have passed all the diagnostic tests - so both the supervisors are working fine and in good state. If there is any problem with the module then you would see it in the "show module", "show logging buffer 1023" & "show log".

We can also clearly see that the standby supervisor is in redundant hot state, and has synced up with the active. So i dont see any issues with any of the modules.
