We are currently experiencing random crashes and packet loss, so I started researching our IOS upgrade path (per tac) and found that our current IOS is listed under the 7600 IOS path, not the 6500 IOS path.
Can anyone shed some light on whether or not this is an accepted practice since the 6500/7600 are almost identical platforms?

SXD5 is mainly for 6500 Series but it can also be used on 7600 Series.
The 6500 line shared its code with the 7600 line until SXH
However, the 7600 line does not share its code (12.2SR) with the 6500 line.
As for the code upgrade in your 6500, you should look into SXF11 as it passed "Safe Harbor Testing".
