800 series

Does anyone know if 800 series routers support bgp and,if no, which are the protocols that are used. I have a couple of those routers and i thought that it would be good if i used them for practice. I'm open to any suggestion.

Thanks

Re: 800 series

Hi, the answer is yes. These 800 series routers support BGP:

831, 836, 837, 871, 876, 877 and 878.

The minimum IOS required is Advanced IP services.

Please rate if this has answered your question.

PS. If you need a specific feature, you can check what Router and IOS support them by using the Feature Navigator tool:

Re: 800 series

This means that if the router does not have the particular feature (bgp), i need to set it up, via tftp or something?

Yes, if you don't have the correct IOS with the feature set required. you'd have to download the correct IOS and copy into the router via TFTP. In few words, proceed with the IOS upgrade; here is a link that explains how to do an IOS upgrade:

plz rate if helpful.
