I bought the AdvIp IOS which requires a memory upgrade. So I popped in a 32meg flash. Now there's no OS, I get ROMMON, can't get router#boot just ROMMON. TFTP doesn't work because it seems like the interfaces are disabled (tried all the switch ports and the wan, it just times out and I can't ping it - hooked it up thru a linksys router and direct to the pc with a crossover cable). I can put the old flash in and get the IOS back - but how do I get it to work with the new flash? I have to install it to load the AdvIP IOS. Thanks a bunch.

Put the new flash chip in, then follow this document:

That's what I was trying - I can't get "router#", does that mean I have to use xmodem? I've never used that before and had read bad things about it.

Got it - finally.
The port wasn't enabled - and it didn't know the command in ROMMON to turn it on.
After getting it going, creamcheese :)
