Hi All,
I have this 877w Cisco router and having problems as I'm seeing gibberish characters when connecting via console via usb also via direeconsole cable via another pc. The thing is once I perform a couple of reboots its then fine. Has anyone come across this?
I have done lot of research but not really got far.
So far I have done the following:
All speed is fine 9600 etc....
Perform Rommon thats fine too.
Driver reloaded on my asus laptop.
All cables changed usb and console.
Now...ran out of ideas Help Please !!!!
Your feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks
Yash

I agree with the previous post that in the vast majority of time gibberish characters are a result of different speed of the console connection. I find it very interesting that you say that after several reboots it does work. Is it possible that in one of those reboots that you reset the config register (which could result in reset of the console speed)?

Hi Rick,
Thanks for your reply, yes very strange, I did reset config sevaral times and also rememeber I did reset the speed too. But matter never was resolved. Strangely, it sorted by itself I guess. If it does reappear I just reboot the device again.
Cheers
