Hi there.
I'm having a strange issue here. I just installed a cisco 2811 and connected it to the core switch WS-C6509-E.
CDP is enabled on both devices. When i do show cdp neighbor on my WS-C6509-Ei cannot see the cisco 2811 in my neighbor table.
But on the cisco 2811, when i do show cdp neighbor i can see the WS-C6509-E.
Note everything works fine its just that i'm worried as to why my WS-C6509-E cant see the cisco 2811 as its neighbor.
the cisco 2811 is connected with access vlan on my core switch.
I would like to thank you in anticipation of your urgernt response
Regards,
Rocky

tricky one hey....try a "no cdp run" then "cdp run" just to disable and enable cdp on both devices. try restarting the devices too....maybe that might help.

Rocky,
On 6509 switch, you can issue the command "sh cdp interface GigabitEthernet X/XX"
It will show you something like below:
GigabitEthernet X/XX is up, line protocol is up
Encapsulation ARPA
Sending CDP packets every 60 seconds
Holdtime is 180 seconds
This might help

Hi Frachorky,
Could you kindly try this on both the switches;
clear the cdp table and counters then try the following:
6500 # config t
6500(config)# cdp enable
6500(config)#int g1/0---thinking that this is connected to 2950
6500(config-if)# cdp enable.
Same goes to 2900.
And update us the result.
HTH
