Please, give a look at this table:
trunk – trunk → trunk
trunk – access → problem
trunk – dynamic desirable → trunk
trunk – dynamic auto → trunk
access – access → access
access – dynamic desirable → access
access – dynamic auto → access
dynamic desirable – dynamic desirable → trunk
dynamic desirable – dynamic auto → trunk
dynamic auto – dynamic auto → access
The table should be exact and contains all possible "mode" combinations, except "nonegotiate".
I would like to know if "nonegotiate" is considered a "mode" or something else,
and if the problem the combination trunk - access causes is that the access port is not prepared
to receive a tagged frame from the trunk port and so discards the frame, in other words, if really it does not
exist any type of useful communication, also native, over that link. Thanks.

Hi,
nonegotiate is not a mode for trunking but it is used to stop DTP frame negotition for that specific switchport with neighbour switch and will for the trunk unconditionally if neighbour is configured for nonegotiate or trunk.

Hi,
Nonegotiation is not a mode and this is just a stat of undesirable condition to become a trunk.
Switchport always check the port to work as access or trunks to DTP and result the port as either access or trunk.
