I am about to add 2 addtional links to an existing spanning tree topology so each distribution switch goes directly into the two cores. We have 4 6509s, 2 for the core and 2 for distribution. There are 2 etherchannels from each distribution going straight down to the cores and one etherchannel connecting the the two IDF distribution 6509s together. I will add two etherchannels diagonally to each core. So there would be 2 links from each distribution 6509 to each core 6509. I will then remove the etherchannel between the two distribution 6509s. What could I expect to go wrong with doing this?
