Access internal web server with public ip from lan

Since we switch to the pix 506e, we're not able to access our internal website using the public address (www.oursite.com). Is it possible to bypass this and how???

Thanks

Re: Access internal web server with public ip from lan

can you access web server with internal IP?

I feel you won't be able to access web server using public IP, if source PC and web server is in the inisde interface of PIX?

If you are accessing web server from PC where both in your LAN, request won't reach PIX where you have configure NAT to map private IP to a public IP, hence can't access website using public IP.

hope it helps ... rate if it helps ....

Yes, it works fine with internal IP, but the meaning for that was to be able to test links with public address (http://www.website.com instead of http://website).

Thanks, any help on this will be appreciated

Re: Access internal web server with public ip from lan

Your asking the PIX to switch back in on it's own WAN interface to access something back on the LAN.

There is no need to 'bypass' this feature as it's intended to prevent routing loops. There are methods, like host files on a Windows network, to access things on the LAN.
