act/lshut & act/ishut

act/lshut appears in 'show vlan' when I use the 'shutdown' command in vlan configuration mode. When does act/ishut appear in 'show vlan'? Command Refference says that it appears when "is shut down internally". What does mean "is shut down internally"?

Re: act/lshut & act/ishut

You can shutdown a layer 2 vlan and put it into a shutdown state if for some reason you want to shut off traffic on a particular layer 2 vlan . If you go into vlan config mode and enter "state shutdown" it will kill traffic on that vlan until you bring the state back active.

That does not answer the

That does not answer the question.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/lanswitch/command/reference/lsw_book/lsw_s2.html

If a VLAN is shut down internally, these values appear in the Status field:
•act/ishut—VLAN status is active but shut down internally.
•sus/ishut—VLAN status is suspended but shut down internally.

So what can result in ishut?

If you go into vlan config and issue a shutdown, then it will be lshut instead of ishut
