adding layer 3 to an access switch

I'm planning on using Layer 3 in my access switches. Let's assume I have one vlan for voice, one for data and a routed interface connected to a distribution switch. What IP address should I use for switch management of the access switch, so I can telnet/ssh to it? Should I use the routed interface or an address from the either the data or voice vlan or maybe add a loopback address?

Personally i would go with a loopback address as in effect this is a now a router, albeit a fast one, and loopbacks are a good way to manage routed devices.

In the long run it doesn't really matter that much to be honest.

Thanks, I'm thinking about how I allocate my IP addresses so I can have a nice looking address scheme. Since I have the chance to work things out on paper, I thought I would ask the question.

thanks again.
