I'm new to Cisco routers and I'm not too sure I understand how the backup connection works.
I have a basic configuration with an ADSL connection to my ISP and one VPN to my head office. I have been trying to implement the async (modem) backup on the console port but I'm not sure how the VPN config translates, i.e. do I have to create a backup VPN connection as well with the backup public IP address or does the router handle the new IP address?
I figure if someone could explain how the backup connection works (with reference to my VPN connection) then this would be an easier task.
