banner motd disregards blank lines

hi,

on 3750's running 12.2(53), I would like a banner motd to display:

text

more text

if I try to enter this:

banner motd #

text

more text

#

I get this:

text

more text

How do I get a blank line between the two lines of text?

Hi,

We may be hitting the bug: CSCte7794. You can view the same at: http://tinyurl.com/69w2elc

The workaround as mentioned in the bug is to create a file external to IOS containing a command that configures the desired banner.  For example,

banner login %
This is an example of a login banner

with an embedded blank line.
%

Then, download this file into IOS by copying it into the running-config.
For example:
copy < file> running-config

It's a bug "re-run".  This bug was first observed on 12.2(50)SE, fixed in 12.2(52)SE (if I remembered correctly), and decided to do an encore in 12.2(53)SE.  Upgrade, if you like, to 12.2(55)SE2.
