boot system proble on catalyst 3550

Greeting,

One of my catalyst 3550 has been installed the same version of IOS twice, accidentally.

After the first upgrade, the switch had been reload, so the switch currently is running ok.

But, after second upgrade, (which do not reload yet), there is a problem with verify IOS image file:

The boot system file is:

# sh boot

BOOT path-list: flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

Verify it and failed:

#verify flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

%Error verifying flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin (No such file or directory)

But, the file is existed:

#dir flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

9 -rwx 7043597 Sep 21 2007 13:08:25 +10:00 c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

Do verify /md5 on the file and it is no crashed:

#verify /md5 flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin

verify /md5 (flash:c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.bin) = d79280434e6a58d224736bac55ec91e4

I have also did:

Conf t

No boot sytem

Boot system ??. To reconfig the boot system. And it is not useful

Could anyone advice me - how can I correct the verify error? If can?t, what will happy when reboot the system?

Any comments will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Re: boot system proble on catalyst 3550

First re-run the upgrade using something like:

archive download-sw /overwrite tftp://10.12.160.9/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE/c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-40.SE.tar

If that does not help, try to format the flash and then re-install the image again using the "archive" command as shown above.

When you should keep running into the same problem each time again, it is likely that the flash itself might be corrupted.

Leo
