Hi every body!
My book shows the following sequence when we turn on the cisco 4500 switch.
1)supervisor bootstrap image loaded
2)IOs image loaded
3)synch startup-config
4)Supervisor diagnostics
5) ALL switch modules reloaded
6) route Engine initialized
7)Layer 2 protocols initialized
8)Layer 3 protocols initialized
9)routing protocols converge
10)FIB table flushed and recreated.
1) what is syn startup-coonfig? is it simply that switch loads the startup-config?
2)what is supervisor Diagnostics? Is it like diagnostics test in PC at boot up?
3)All switch modules reloaded? does it mean the drivers/software necessary to run these modules are loaded?
4) route engine initialized?
-----------------------------------
Thanks a lot!

Sarah, you have correctly answered all your questions.
Whenever something is initialized, it means it has gone through the required checks and diagnostics to allow it to be functional. This is general communications-speak.
