Re: Broadcast Address?

Net addr = 10.2.2.0

B'cast = 10.2.2.255 [directed]

What's the debate about?

Thanks.

Re: Broadcast Address?

Faizan,

The broadcast address would be 10.2.2.255. In a class C address space the last octet will always be 255.

Re: Broadcast Address?

Rais,

Actually he told me that the last three octets will be changed and the first octet will be constant as it's class A address.

But the subnet will allow only last octet to be changed as the total hosts are 255 and changing three octets will give up 255+255+255 which is absurd.

Re: Broadcast Address?

Perhaps the confusion arises whether you're doing classful addressing (such as when you mention class A) or whether you're doing classless addressing (such as implied by your /24 in your original post).
