Bug CSCso29149 with Cisco 4507R - PoE Issue

Hi Cisco Techies,

please help in one of case in my office we have cisco catalyst 4500 (4507R) and we have 3 to 4 WS-X4548-GB-RJ45 modules installed now in slot 5 we have the same module and in that module some ports are not working PoE, means normally data traffic its works but when i connect my IP phone to some particular ports its not giving power.

we have done RMA of that module and ports were working fine for 5 to 6 days and againg it stopped to provide Power to my ip phones and other devices. then we have opened a TAC case with Cisco and they are saying that its affected with bug CSCso29149 and advised to upgrade software code. we have also upgraded IOS of switch but still issue remains same. then cisco advised to swap the module as its affectting only slot 5, i have done some debugining and getting below outputs from swtich. please have a look and provide your solutions comments if any..

Hi,

some particular ports its not giving power.

i want to check if we can eliminate any line card and/or backplane issue.  Can I ask if you move some of the links from this slot to another slot?  I mean if you move the links to another slot does the port provide stable PoE?

Now, if your response to this is NO then we could try a TDR test.  Before we begin, I would like to warn you first that the 4500 TDR is not as "friendly" as the cheaper siblings of the Catalyst 2K and 3K.

Here are the commands to do the TDR:

1.  Command:  test cable tdr interface ;

2.  Wait approximately 60 seconds for the line card to complete the test;

3.  Command:  sh cable tdr interface ; and

4.  Please post the command output.

Hope this works.
