C2950-24G NIC compatability

Is there any known compatability issue/problem on the Cat2950G-24-EI  with an onboard SUN NIC card  V890, QuadGigaswift PCI-X R Ethernet (QGE-X) OS version: Solaries 10.

This card can not communicate at 100MB full duplex. it defaults to 100/Half duplex.

How are the port and NIC configured ie.

either configure both for auto-negotiation or configure both for 100 full duplex but you can't configure one for 100 full and leave the other to auto-negotiate.

Hi Kgabo,

There is no issue with port of 2960 and NIC as suggested configure either in auto/aoto or hardcode maunal setting at both ends and share the results.

Re: C2950-24G NIC compatability

Sounds like the sun nic was hardcoded to 100/full which would then put

the switch in 100/half  if it set as auto/auto  which is a normal state .

Either hardcode the switchport to 100/full or set the sun nic to auto/auto .
