C3KX-NM-10G port not working

Hi,

3560X is connected to another 3560X by 10G fiber optic connection (C3KX-NM-10G network module, SFP-10G-LRM on both ends).

Yesterday 10G port went down. After changing SFPs, cables I am sure one of the 10G ports on network module is not working, it does not work with tested SFPs and cables.

sh inventory command output

NAME: "FRULink Slot 1 - FRULink Module", DESCR: "FRULink 10G ST Module"
PID: C3KX-NM-10G       , VID: V01  , SN:

NAME: "TenGigabitEthernet1/1", DESCR: "SFP-10GBase-LRM"
PID: SFP-10G-LRM         , VID: V02  , SN:

NAME: "TenGigabitEthernet1/2", DESCR: "SFP-10GBase-LRM"
PID: SFP-10G-LRM         , VID: V02  , SN:

sh ip int brief

TenGigabitEthernet1/1  10.1.1.90       YES manual down                  down

TenGigabitEthernet1/2  10.1.1.10       YES manual up                    up

What can I try in this situation? Or RMA is the only option?

TIA

What is your IOS?

Can you also post the output to the command "sh post"?

Try upgrading to 12.2(55)SE9 and try again.

From how you describe it, an RMA may well be in order. The TAC is pretty good about that sort of thing.

What does "show int te1/1 transceiver detail" show you?

Hi,

Output from both working and non working ports:

ITU Channel not available (Wavelength not available),
Transceiver is internally calibrated.

A2D readouts (if they differ), are reported in parentheses.
The threshold values are calibrated.

Try upgrading to 12.2(55)SE9 and try again.

Thank you. Port is up after upgrading.

Thanks for taking the time for updating the results.  :)

I'm also having this exact same problem on the same code version. Planning to upgrade this weekend.

This thread is >1 year now.  There are newer versions to the 12.2(55)SE train, namely 12.2(55)SE10.  I'd recommend you use whatever latest there is available.

Upgraded to 12.2(55)SE10 with same results. Might try a 15 release but I'm leaning towards a hardware issue on the module. This is a fairly new module installed (<2 months).

Following up - Cisco sent a replacement module which seems to have resolved my issue.
