Hi Johan,
It is recommended to upgrade both. I will recommend to upgrade the DRAM for sup as well as MSFC and for sup engine you can go for PCMCIA ATA FlashDisk device.
Supervisor Engine 2 ROMMON version 7.1(1) or later supports the MEM-C6K-ATA-1-64M= (64 MB) PCMCIA ATA FlashDisk device.
For MSFC DRAM Upgrade

For SUP DRAM Upgrade

For sup 2 flash disk support

Hi,
SUP2 requires(MEM-S2-256MB) and MSFC2 requires(MEM-MSFC2-256MB.
Since this memory is EOS can you recommened replacement parts from the approved vendor list.
thx

Johan,
You need the following part number to upgrade the DRAM to 256.It is recommended to upgrade the both Sup and MSFC Dram
For Sup2 the part number is
MEM-S2-256MB=Catalyst 6500 256MB DRAM on the Supervisor (SUP2), Spare
For MSFC2 the part number is
MEM-MSFC2-256MB=Catalyst 6500 256MB DRAM on the MSFC2, Spare
Unfortunately, you cannot upgrdae the Sup2 bootflash to more than 32MB. Its is not supported on Sup2. If you want to have 12.2x train IOS then you have to use 64MB flash Disk ATA adaptor on Sup2. You can have IOS loaded on the Flash disk and then boot for the router and Sup from there.
This is the part number for FD card : MEM-C6K-ATA-1-64M

Johan,
Sup 2 is EOL/EOS and the related hardware as well. There is no replacement for the related part numbers.
The memory part numbers which are listed are still valid part number and you can order them till November2007. As I said there is no substitue part number for the same and customers are encoraged to mkve to Sup32 or Sup720.

Joahn,
Yes, I have got the same results when I am checking the GPlist. I think the MSFC2 mem is still orderable but not listed in the GPlist.
I would suggest you to contact your Cisco Acoount team and they will be able to take if further for you.
