Dear Experts,

I need to Implement Network Infrastructure. For the same campus.

Topology and Configuration is ready with Redundancy using HSRP. Now I am stuck at adding QoS configuration LAN environment.

Can you guide me. Can you show me sample configuration and according to the detail I m providing you?.

Details:

1. Toplogy : Attached.

2. Configuration Details:

  • STP Type: PVST+ / MST
  • STP Protection Features: UDLD/LoopGuard/RootGuard/SpanningTree and all.
  • At Distribution Level (CD1 and CD2 shown in Topology) Intervlan routing using "ip routing" and point Route to backbone. From Backbone point reverse root to Distribution for each vlan in dist. or Ready to use ospf.
  • HSRP configured with Load balancing with 1/2 ratio.
  • Ether channel is there where ever required.

3. Phisical topology include:

  • IP Phone and Video Camera(CCTV) camera is also coonected in Network.
  • Netwoek SW are as shown in Topology.

4. Device details:

at CORE layer : 4500 series sw

at Dist layer: 3750 12 port sfp and 24 port Tx + 4 SFP in stacking mode

at Access layer 2960 with lanbase IOS

IP camera / CCTV camera

IP phone

Conference Devices

These all things is ready.

Now I need to configure QoS in these scenario.

So please Help me. I am new for Qos related configuration.

Please suggest and show some configuration.

Hi,

I can see a laundry list of devices, but where is the strategy for QOS, I think you must start with the bandwidth subscription in the campus. Identify what to prioritize, what to be penalized, Where to do marking.. etc.

From the list you can startoff like

1. Voip traiffc should be give priority, are the phones capable of doing marking themselves.

2. no. of queue's on each platform

3. Video traffic policy

4. Application port numbers

5. Identify subnet, IP address of devices whom you want to give priority or police

6. Categorize traffic for service levels Gold, silver, bronze etc

7. Define service level QOS for these classes

Dear Hitesh Vinzoda,

What is the standard procedure to decide it? Pls suggest.

Can you suggest any Template configuration?

Regards,

Dear Hitesh,

Can you show some Configuration for CORE, Distribution and Access switches?

Regards,

Dear Experts,

After Studying, i have come to the decesion that will go for Auto QoS and than will tune the QoS.

Is it ok or not....Pls suggest.

For Auto QoS I am thinking following configuration:

For access port where IP Phone is connected sample configuration is as follows:

interface GigabitEthernet0/11
  switchport access vlan XXX
  switchport mode access
  switchport voice vlan 501
  auto qos voip cisco-phone
  spanning-tree portfast
  spanning-tree bpduguard enable
!

For Trunk port where switch is connected sample configuration is as follows:

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport mode trunk
auto qos voip cisco-phone

                        auto qos voip trust

Is it ok or wrong. Please suggest....................

Where I should Apply Auto QoS.? Should I use on all switches?

Kindly please suggest where should I apply Auto QoS Cmd at each layer which will be work for DATA and VOICE conincide on the same physical link as well as also manage the QoS for other LAN traffic.

Topology is the same as show in 1st Post.

Hopping for a Reply.

Dipesh

Hello ...........

No one replied ??????????

To me your question was one that might be asked by a student as part of a design question for a test.  Or a consultant who was way way too far over his head, but your question was very very broad.  You might try the Cisco Learning Network or http://www.sadikhov.com/forum/index.php?showforum=35.
