Campus QoS: WTD-Thresholds on Egress Queue

Hi all,

I've been trying to analyze the Auto-QoS-Config of a Catalyst 2960 and there is one command I don't understand:

mls qos queue-set output qset-id threshold queue-id drop-threshold1 drop-threshold2 reserved-threshold maximum-threshold

What I don't understand particularly are the values for drop-threshold 1 and 2.

Example:

mls qos queue-set output 1 threshold 1 138 138 92 138

Possible values are between 1-3200 and now I'm asking myself what is the purpose of WTD-Thresholds of more than 100% (138% in this case)?

Guess I misunderstand the command...

Thanks

Rolf

Hello Rolf,

command reference says

>>The drop-threshold percentages can exceed 100 percent and can be up to the maximum (if the maximum threshold exceeds 100 percent).

so the sample config statement is correct.

see

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst2960/software/release/12.2_46_se/command/reference/cli1.html#wp2144505

the command is strictly related to this

mls qos queue-set output buffers

that is the one that provides the buffers absolute size for the queue-set.

I agree that is not clear and not expected to see a percentage going above 100%.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
