Can you reflash an SFP after it gives CRC errors?

I have had a lot of older Cisco branded GLC-SX-MM SFPs that don't come back after a power cycle/reboot/re-insert.  Apparently their eeprom is corrupt.  Does anyone have a method of re-programming them?  I see a failure rate of around 50% on mine that are 10+ years old.

On my 3750s I do a service unsupported-transceiver and no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid to get them to function but they now show type "unknown"

You can RMA the SFP.  Just

You can RMA the SFP.  Just open a TAC Case and quote a serial number of a switch with SFP ports.  You can even quote the serial number of a 4500/6500 chassis.
