Is Vlan2856 the first extended Vlan you have tried to create on that switch or do you have existing extended ones?

Hello Devils,
thank you for asking, Vlan2856 is the last, We already had vlans2801,2807,2857, and 3326.

You are running VTP version 1. Please change the VTP version to 3 and you should be able to configure the xtended range vlans.

hello Amit,
The others switches run vtp version1, what should be the consequence if We configure version 3. I mean some switches are run version1, and others not?

You need to enable VTP V3 on all the switches. If one of your switch is VTPV1 capable only, it will not able to inter-operate with VTP V3.
Please look at these guidelines for 2960.

I think this only applies when using VTP in a Client/Sever mode.
Support for extended range VLAN (VLANs 1006 to 4094) database propagation
He is using transparent so there is not database propagation.
My 3750x uses VTP v1 in Transparent mode and I can create extended Vlans.

Oh yes, I over looked it. My bad. If I am in trabnsparent mode, i should bve avle to do it any VTP version.

Did you create those vlans (2801,2807,2857, and 3326) on this switch whilst in transparent mode?
You are trying to create Vlan2856, have you tried a different Vlan ID in the extended range?

Look at 'show vlan internal usage'. You could have a conflict with an existing vlan. Internal vlans are used by routed ports.

Hello john,
I asked the outputs of
SW1#sh vlan internal usage
VLAN Usage
---- --------------------
SW1#
there is nothing.

I had a look around and all the symptoms on this is pointing to a broken vlan database. Is this a production switch? Can you try deleting the vlan.dat and try creating it again. Check if that helps.
Cheers,

It's in production, I will try ,and let you know.

Are you running LAN lite image?
Note Up to 64 VLANs are supported when the switch is running the LAN Lite image.
