Hi,
Can someone tell me if there's an equivalent for the ''captures'' that you can do on the ASAs on routers?
We need to sniff the packets and capture them with wireshark, but we would like the ability to do it from the router itself without the need of putting the sniffer in the path of traffic.
On the ASA we can define an ACL and apply a capture to it, and export that to read it from Wireshark.
Is there a way to do this on IOS?
Federico.

Beginning with IOS 12.4(20)T you can now do this with the Embedded Packet Capture. Haven't tried it myself so not sure how good it is -

Thank you Jon, I'll give it a try (i'm not familiar with it), but it seems to be exactly what we need ;-)
I'll get back to you, thank you again.
Federico.
