I'm working on a network design which is calling for small PoE workgroup switches in an small cabinet located in an office with people working. We've rejected the 3560 switches due to physical size (too big) and excessive fan noise. What I'd like to know is how much noise do the 500 series catalyst switches emit?
Is there anyone out there using 500's that can comment on how quiet they are and whether or not they are OK for office workers sitting right next to them.
