Cat3750E and Cat3750G Stack

Hi,

I'm trying to create a "mixed" stack composed by one 3750E and one 3750G.

I've some question about IOS choosing (more complex than create VRF with QOS and VoIP and blabla...)

- I've noticed that IOS Feature Set are different: on 3750E the image is named "universal" and on 3750G IPAdvanced/IP Base"...right now I've on 3750G IP Advanced Services...which feature set should I choos eto been able to insert the 3750E into this stack???

- The IOS Release version should be the same? I mean my stack right now is using 12.2(37) the 3750E have to be with its image but with the saem Release???

- If I setup a mixed stack where the cat3750E will be the master...it will download the ISO to the 3750G models or it won't form the stack since there is an IOS mismatch between the 370E and 3750G?

Thnx for you reply

Re: Cat3750E and Cat3750G Stack

You'll have to be sure you have the proper 'software activation' for mixed stacks.

Please see the following links for info on 3750/3750E mixed stack software activation:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750e_3560e/software/release/12.2_40_se/configuration/note/swactivn.html#wp94023

Mixed stack configuration guidelines:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750e_3560e/software/release/12.2_40_se/configuration/note/swactivn.html#wp94306

(these are both from the same doc Cisco Software Activation and Compatibility Document)

It specifies recommended IOS versions, flash size, steps and much more.
