I have a Cisco Switch Catalyst 2950, nevertheless it does not have the option "crypto" in order for me to ssh to it. Any suggestion?

The image you have on your switch does not support crypto, if you want to use ssh to access it you will need to load a crypto image on it.

I have downloaded this: 1518 Mar 01 1993 00:40:55 +00:00 c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA14.bin.
It looks like it is far smaller than the original 3132319 Mar 01 1993 00:02:42 +00:00 c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA14.bin,
Now switch's flash shows: 2 -rwx 3132319 Mar 01 1993 00:02:42 +00:00 c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA14.bin

When I was trying to boot from the new IOS version I went into great problems bring the switch back to it's function. I would appreciate any assistance on how to install the crypto image.
Kindest Regards.

Ok,here I go.
I've downloaded and installed the new " IOS (tm) C2950 Software (C2950-I6K2L2Q4-M), Version 12.1(22)EA14, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)" to get the "ssh" option. Used TFTP.
I did the boot system flash pointing to the new IOS version.
switch: boot
Loading "flash:c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA14.bin"...#######
It rebooted normally with the new IOS version, nevertheless I got the "switch:" prompt nevertheless I don't have the command "enable". I got stuck with "switch:"
Now all the commands I have available are as below:
switch: ?
? -- Present list of available commands
boot -- Load and boot an executable image
cat -- Concatenate (type) file(s)
copy -- Copy a file
delete -- Delete file(s)
dir -- List files in directories
flash_init -- Initialize flash filesystem(s)
format -- Format a filesystem
fsck -- Check filesystem consistency
help -- Present list of available commands
load_helper -- Load and initialize a helper image
memory -- Present memory heap utilization information
mkdir -- Create dir(s)
more -- Concatenate (display) file(s)
rename -- Rename a file
reset -- Reset the system
rmdir -- Delete empty dir(s)
set -- Set or display environment variables
set_param -- Set system parameters in flash
trap -- Cause a software breakpoint to occur
type -- Concatenate (type) file(s)
-- MORE --
unset -- Unset one or more environment variables
version -- Display boot loader version
switch:
Please, any idea?

It seems u need to recover the Switch IOS..I don't have much experience with the 2950 but u should be able to reload the old imag via tftp via ROMON mode (switch:)

I had lost my switch configuration and IOS, fortunately I had the image on my computer and was able to restore it using xmodem option. Now everything is working fine. Thank you all.
