Catalyst 2960-x series. Static IP device was not able to get connection.
We recently purchase a cisco switch catalyst 2960-x series. 1 of the port seems to be refreshing 1 network point frequently, then another port connected to a static IP printer is down too, I couldn't ping the IP address. But when I change to Another switch, it is working fine.
I did a direct connect from that port to my laptop was ok but strangely why is it not working for a static IP printer?
Is there any configuration regarding connecting static IP?
It is tough to answer based on above information. But can you please ensure the switch port is in the right vlan for that subnet from where you used the static ip? Alternately you can check which vlan that port belongs to and configure an ip address from that vlan to the printer.
Also share all relevant details. From where you are pinging ? Are you on the same vlan or different vlan? Share port config etc so that we can help you further.
Hope this helps and kindly grade my post if it is helpful to you.
