Hello,

we have Catalysts 2960S for switching in our Wireless high capacity backbone network. As agregation switch we are using 3560x.

I just need to know, if are these 2960S good solution for igmp snooping for whole IPTV stream. It put only a range from backbone and put out on another port. But just specified multicast addresses.

Imput will be 239.128.0.10 to 239.128.0.20 on Gi 0/1

Output wil be 239.128.0.10 - 15 on Gi 0/24

IPTV will be separated on different VLAN for eg VLAN 20

Is needed any priorization configured od switches?

The capacity for IPTV is around 500 mbps

Thank you very much!

I presume your uplink is 10Gb?

No, my uplink or radio network is 1 gig only. 2960S doesnt support 10 gig as i know.

2960S comes in two flavours:  The plain has 1 Gb uplink and the "D" series has 1 Gb or 10 Gb uplink.

You may want to etherchannel your uplinks.  A single 1Gb uplink, in my humble opinion, will not be enough.

Thank you !

in bacbone uplink are 2 Vlans.

VLAN 20 - IPTV = 500 Mbit

VLAN 80 - NET = 200 Mbit

I hope it is enough

Uplink port is Gi 0/1

Downlink port for IPTV  is gi 0/24 with 300 Mbit IPTV traffic
