Is it possible to make etherchannel between Catalyst 3500 and linux router (with intel advanced networking services)? Currently we are trying to do such thing by setting in configuration 802.3ad mode in linux. At the cisco switch auto mode doesn't work, so we set it allways ON.
Judging by graphs - balancing is happening, but it never makes more than 100Mbit in sum. Where could be the problem?
Re: catalyst 3500 fast etherchannel + linux router
I have not setup etherchannel between linux and cisco switch but it may be to do with the load balancing algorithm. Attached is a link to how the 3550 does etherchannel load balancing. You can do destination or source mac load balancing. It might worth trying both.
