Catalyst 3560G and change main server

In the company we switched server, the old server was Windows Server 2003 (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory), we bought a new server with Windows Server 2012 R2 (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory), we have 3 network Switch's (Catalyst 2960-S) and a Catalyst 3560G, VLAN's is 12, which are configured, try to put the new WinServ2012R2 server, users who are connected to the same IP range as the server (10.1.0.x) have no problem in receiving an address, but they are in all other VLAN's can not obtain a valid IP receive the erroneous IP (169.278.xx), what is it I'm doing wrong on the new server or missing in Cisco Switch's lso change?

HI,

Have you configured "ip helper-address X.X.X.X" on the user vlan where X.X.X.X  is the ip address of the new win2012 server?

Thanks

John

agreed ip helper address

agreed ip helper address under the SVI should do it. You may also need to include ip routing globally to turn on inter-VLAN routing.

Hi, Users in the same vlan

Hi,

Users in the same vlan will be able to get IP address from the DHCP server  because DHCP messages are broadcast whereas for users in the different vlans need " IP helper address" to be configured on the gateway/L3 vlan interface, so that the dhcp broadcast request can be sent to DHCP server.

Thanks & Regards

Sandeep
