Catalyst 3750 - IOS Upgrade

Hello,

we need to upgrade a catalyst 3750 from 12.2.35 ipbase to 12.2.44 advipservices.

The upgrade will be done with the *.bin image and not the *.tar.

Because there is not enough space on the flash the old one is deleted.

Next steps are seeting the boot variable and rebooting the the switch.

I can see the image will be loaded...

but the problem currently seems the boot time because it was more than one hour...so we stop the boot process...

Any ideas why does it takes so long ?

thanks

Udo

The only thing I can think of is when you copy the BIN file to a single switch in a stack but didn't copy the BIN file to the rest of the stack.

I forgot to say..this is only a single switch and not a stack member...

Can you post the output from the boot process?

It's just

Loading “flash:c3750-advipservicesk9-mz.122-44.SE6.bin”…@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@...and so on...it never stops...;-(

What is the exact model number of the switch?

Do you REALLY need 12.2(44)SE?

Can you try something BETTER?  Like 12.2(55)SE8?

Besides, WHY is your flash full?  What "junk" do you have in there?

my flash was full because of the old image (9MB) so there is at lest 7 MB free

I agree with Leo. I run various 3750 models and 12.2.55(se latest) is your best bet. And, because I run different models, you should make sure the iOS you are attempting to load is correct for the model you are loading it onto.

@Leo and Jeff - I read the relese notes from version 12.2.58 and it doesn't support the 3750-24PS. Maybe version 12.2.55 will support this hardware...?!

I will test it and send the feedback...

the mode number is : ws-c3750-24ps-s

@Leo and Jeff - I read the relese notes from version 12.2.58 and it doesn't support the 3750-24PS.

I beg your pardon????

I am not that stupid to recommend 12.2(58)SE to anyone, period.   My recommendation is 12.2(55)SE8.

Do the right thing, erase the old image and load the correct IOS in.
